What are angel numbers? Here's how to use them!

Angel numbers are an important part of my every day, and I track them all in my List of Magic. Not only do they bring solace that I am not alone, but they also have special messages and significance in our lives.

Angel numbers are most commonly viewed as repeating numbers, typically groups of 3 or 4 numbers in a row: 111, 222 or 333, for example. However, Angel numbers are any collection of numbers that you see frequently. If you keep seeing 541, then there is also meaning in that number.

At its root, seeing these numbers are a sign from your Spirit Team to pay attention. This could be a reminder to tune into your own intuition, or could have a more specific meaning. There are general themes, channeled by intuitives, around the meanings of these numbers. Some sources may vary greatly, so use your discernment for what feels most aligned. This does not mean one source is not true, it just means it is not aligned for you.

So, let’s dive into Angel numbers, what they mean, debunking taboo/unlucky numbers, and how Angel numbers can support your life!

The image above is a graphic I came across years ago, when I began working with my Spirit Team. Each message felt the most aligned with what I felt was true, so I saved it in a photo album on my phone labeled “Tools.” As I was learning, I would refer back to this image and eventually learned their messages. Now when I see a 444 on a license plate, while I’m driving, I immediately know it means I am protected and taken care of.

This is a beautiful way to continue building my internal sense of safety through Radical Validation. If I believe it to be, then so it is. There is great power and freedom in this. There is also the responsibility of the Observer, maintaining neutrality and understanding there is no “good” and there is no “bad,” there just is. Meaning, my belief is not better or more true than another’s. I fully trust in myself and my perspective, through my current lens of reality, while remaining open to other perspective truths and that things change.

I love how my friend, Angelic Intuitive, Taylor Paige talks about Angel numbers. She will share Instagram graphics with digestible messages to help guide you, but ultimately the message is meant to come from within you. It takes time to develop your intuition and trust.

Essentially, you can outline the meaning associated with any number. If you want 555 to mean something specific because that’s what feels right for you, then so it is. Simply communicate this verbally with your Spirit Team.

Also, there are no taboo or negative numbers. 666 gets a lot of shade as being an omen of the Devil. This was created by colonizers who placed fear within society around powerful women and men (people they couldn’t control). They were deemed as witches and were killed or outcast from society. 13 is also known as an unlucky number, but this is based on superstition. Both of these examples are the collective perspective of someone else’s fear based belief system. A number is just a number and you can decide what it means, for you.

Angel numbers will present themselves in many ways:

• License plates

• Advertisements

• Phone numbers

• Building numbers

• Money (receipts of total due, or change due)

• Time visible on clocks

• Dates- November 11th is 11/11, August 8th is 8/8- these are known as portals

• Timestamps on songs, podcasts, tv shows/movies, text messages, voice notes

• Page numbers

Literally, anywhere you see numbers, there is the potential for an Angel number. If you feel a significance in that number, then it is significant.

You can event look at your birthday. My birthday is June 18th. That’s 6/18. So, whenever I see 618, it’s a little wink to myself. In my family, we enjoy the birthday minute. My birthday minute is 6:18 am and pm. Whenever I catch my birthday number I do a little wiggle dance to celebrate my life. If I catch a loved one’s birthday minute, I send them love.

Angel numbers can also be associated with Numerology: the occult significance of numbers. In numerology, all numbers are sequentially added, and reduced to a single number. So, let’s take my birthday, June 18th, 1987: 06 18 1987

• 0 + 6 + 1 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 40, then

• 4 + 0 = 4

• So, my numerology is a 4

Try this with your own birthday! Like any personality classification tool (Astrology, Human Design, Myers Briggs, etc), it can be fun to add to a deeper understanding of yourself. However, I never allow an outside tool to define me, or keep me limited. If it doesn’t feel aligned, I disregard.

Another aspect of Angel numbers that I love and really utilize in my personal manifestation process is patterning! I track every angel number I see, every day (in my List of Magic) and over time I began to see 3 patterns emerge.

1. I would see the same Angel numbers, consistently. Sometimes multiple times a day, for multiple days. So, I created an energetic rule with my Spirit Team. (I cover this in my Energetic Boundaries workshop, and introduce you to your team in my Spirit Team Connection workshop).

The rule is: when I see the same Angel number 3 or more times in a single day, I go to this specific website for more information. Because there are many different views on what Angel numbers mean, I wanted to make sure my Angels know what resource I am going to for their messages. This way we both know we are communicating effectively. If they have been told I go to this one site, but then I go somewhere else, I will not be receiving the message they intended for me.

This is the website I use for deeper insights. This site was shared with me years ago from a friend. It has every number, up to 3460. I don’t know why it ends there. The information is comprehensive and takes into account the numerology. If I keep seeing an Angel number that is greater than the site’s highest number, then I do a google search and whichever message lands for me is the message I take away. This was also communicated to my Spirit Team.

2. The other pattern I began to see, after tracking for a couple years, was right before a big ending of something significant I will get a slew of Angel numbers, everyday for a week. It will feel overwhelming, like they’re coming at me from every direction. Some days I’d see 10-15 Angel numbers, while the normal daily average is 3.

I take this to mean that my Spirit Team is with me and everything will be ok. They are preparing me for a transition. Everything is always in my highest good, even if it doesn’t look like that from my perspective. So far, this has come when jobs and relationships end. Something that is outside of my control (although everything is..) which deals with other people and their free will.

So now, when I start get receive this overload of numeric messages, I know something is coming within 1-2 weeks. I use this information to ground into my body, doubling down on internal safety and nervous system regulation. I can also usually intuit what will be ending and begin to prepare.

The first time I realized this pattern, I lost my job working as a chef for a Hollywood producer. Something had felt off for a couple weeks, but everyone in my life was saying I was reading into things (societal gaslighting, through non-validation). I had been seeing Angel numbers everywhere, for days. By the time I got the phone call terminating my services, I literally laughed on the phone because I already knew. It didn’t effect me as deeply because it wasn’t out of the blue.

I still had to move through the cycle of grief, but I had a head start.

3. Based on tracking, I was able to find a pattern around the number 666. This pattern has to do with my ability to create my own intuitive meaning of a number. I co-created the meaning in response to the messages I received from my Spirit Team. When I see 666, repeatedly, it means someone from my past, with whom I am no longer connected and do not wish to be connected, is going to reach out or I will have an encounter.

As I mentioned above, this number has a bad wrap, but just as some emotions are difficult or uncomfortable doesn’t make them bad. For years I had an interesting relationship with 666 because people refuse to talk about it. Even Taylor Paige (who I referenced above) made an entire clothing line of hats and sweatshirts with Angel numbers, except for 666 because of societies response to it. She said it was easier to just not make one than deal with people’s messages about it.

We live in a world of duality and we further that sense of separation with labeling things as good and bad. But personally, I love to get a heads up if I’m going to have a run in with an ex. These messages are here to bring us comfort and make things easier. We are not alone nor at the whim of the world.

Working with your Spirit Team has endless benefits. We have an incredible, invisible support system at our disposal, wanting and waiting to be utilized. They are always sending us messages- whether through numbers, animals, songs, synchronicities, etc. It is limitless and happening whether you are aware of them or not.
